These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Uttanka ("Uttanka", "we"). By creating an account or using the app or website you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Uttanka provides Vedic-astrology charts and personalised guidance based on the birth details you provide, together with related features such as charts, dashas, panchanga and notifications. Readings are prepared using astrological computation and intelligence tools, and are reviewed — and, where helpful, updated — by practising astrologers before they reach you.
Your readings are reviewed — and, where an astrologer judges it helpful, updated or refined — by practising astrologers who work with us, before the reading reaches you. Astrology is an interpretive discipline: a reading reflects the considered judgement and opinion of the astrologer and the tradition, and reasonable astrologers may differ. This human oversight does not turn a reading into a guarantee, a prediction of certain outcomes, or professional advice (see the next section).
All readings and content are provided for personal reflection and cultural purposes only. They are NOT, and must not be relied upon as, medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and they do not predict outcomes with certainty. We do not diagnose or treat any condition. Any decision you make is your own responsibility. If you are in crisis or distress, please contact a qualified professional or an emergency helpline immediately.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account, and for the accuracy of the birth details you provide — the quality of readings depends on them. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
Asking questions beyond any free daily allowance requires question credits, which you buy as one-time question packs. The price and the number of questions in each pack are shown before you pay. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay on both web and mobile; we do not store your card, UPI or bank details. Question packs are one-time purchases — there are NO subscriptions and nothing auto-renews. Credits do not expire, are personal to your account, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
Because a reading is generated and delivered to you immediately, question packs and credits are non-refundable once a reading has been generated using them — except where a refund is required by law, or where a payment failed, was duplicated, or was charged in error. The refund and cancellation terms presented at the time of purchase govern. To raise a billing issue, contact us at the address below and we will help.
You agree not to misuse the service, including: violating any law; attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service; uploading harmful or infringing content; or using the service to harass others or for any unlawful purpose.
You retain ownership of the questions and content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to operate and improve the service (including generating and reviewing your readings) consistent with our Privacy Policy.
The app and its software, source code, design, text, graphics, readings and other content, and the Uttanka name, logo and marks, are the property of Swapzen Retail Pvt Ltd or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws in India and worldwide. Uttanka™ is a trademark of Swapzen Retail Pvt Ltd. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from any part of the service without our prior written permission. Your personal readings are provided for your own non-commercial use, and nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual-property rights to you.
The service relies on third-party providers (for example payment processing, mapping, intelligence and notification providers). Your use of those may also be subject to their terms; we are not responsible for third-party services.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the readings. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence, the courts at our registered office in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
We may modify these Terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email and the "last updated" date will change. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
