Antardasha
A sub-period within a major dasha, ruled by a second planet that colours the main period.
An antardasha (also called bhukti) is the second-level period inside a maha-dasha. Each major planetary period is divided into nine antardashas, run by all nine planets in turn, in proportions that mirror the main dasha's own lengths.
The antardasha refines the reading: the maha-dasha lord sets the broad theme, and the running antardasha lord shapes how that theme expresses at a given time. The relationship between the two planets — friendly, neutral or hostile — strongly conditions the period's tone.
Antardashas are themselves subdivided into pratyantardashas and finer levels, letting an astrologer narrow timing from years toward months and weeks. They are essential to the precision of Vimshottari prediction.
