Gochara (Transit)
The current real-time motion of planets and its effect on a birth chart.
Gochara means transit: the ongoing, present-day movement of the planets through the sky, and how those moving positions interact with a fixed birth chart. While the dasha system unfolds the chart's promise over a lifetime, transits describe the shorter-term triggers and weather.
Classical transit reading often measures planets from the natal Moon sign, judging which houses from the Moon they are passing through. Slow planets like Saturn and Jupiter, and the nodes, are watched most closely because their transits last long enough to matter.
Transits and dashas are read together: a transit tends to act strongly when it echoes what the running dasha already promises. Tools like ashtakavarga help judge whether a given transit through a sign will be supportive.
