Sade Sati

The roughly seven-and-a-half-year transit of Saturn over the signs surrounding the natal Moon.

Sade Sati ('the seven and a half') is the period when transiting Saturn passes through the sign before your Moon sign, your Moon sign itself, and the sign after it. Since Saturn spends about two and a half years per sign, the whole passage lasts roughly seven and a half years.

Saturn represents responsibility, limitation and maturation, so this transit is often felt as a demanding, slowing, restructuring phase. Its actual weight depends on Saturn's natal condition and the houses involved — it is far from uniformly bad, and is widely described as a period of growth through effort.

It returns roughly every 27–30 years, so most people meet it two or three times in a life. Honest framing treats Sade Sati as a season for patience, discipline and consolidation rather than a stretch of guaranteed misfortune.
