Kaal Sarp Dosha
A configuration where all seven planets fall between Rahu and Ketu on one side of the chart.
Kaal Sarp dosha is said to form when all seven classical planets are hemmed on one side of the lunar nodes — that is, between Rahu and Ketu. The image is of the planets caught within the 'serpent' formed by the nodal axis.
It is one of the most commercialised and fear-driven ideas in modern astrology, and is notably absent from many classical texts. The strict full condition is fairly rare, and even when present its effects are widely overstated and easily cancelled by strong placements.
A measured reading checks whether the configuration is exact, notes that a single planet outside the axis breaks it, and weighs the nodes' real placement instead of treating the label as a doom. It is a pattern to examine, not a curse to fear.
