Gajakesari Yoga
An auspicious yoga formed when Jupiter sits in an angle from the Moon.
Gajakesari ('elephant-lion') yoga forms when Jupiter is in a kendra — the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th — counted from the Moon. The combination of the Moon's mind with Jupiter's wisdom and grace is read as giving intelligence, good reputation, and steady well-being.
Its strength depends on the condition of both planets: a Jupiter or Moon that is weak, debilitated or afflicted gives a much milder result than the textbook promise. Like all yogas, it is one factor to weigh, not a guarantee of greatness.
When genuinely strong, Gajakesari is considered one of the more benevolent yogas, supporting respect, learning and a balanced temperament that lasts. It tends to express through the relevant dashas rather than all at once.
