Parivartana Yoga
A mutual exchange in which two planets each occupy the sign the other rules.
Parivartana ('exchange') yoga occurs when two planets sit in each other's signs — for example Mars in a sign ruled by Venus while Venus sits in a sign ruled by Mars. The two effectively trade places, binding their significations and the houses they rule tightly together.
The exchange links the affairs of the two houses involved, so their results tend to rise and fall together. Classical texts grade these exchanges: most are favourable (Maha and Khala types), while one type involving the difficult houses (Dainya) needs care.
Parivartana is a respected and reliable yoga because it depends only on clear sign placement, not fine degrees. It usually strengthens the connection between the two life areas the planets govern.
