Trikona
The trinal houses — the 1st, 5th and 9th — the most auspicious houses of fortune.
The trikonas, or trines, are the 1st, 5th and 9th houses. They are considered the most auspicious houses in the chart, associated with dharma, fortune, creativity, children, wisdom and the grace that comes from past merit. The 1st is shared with the kendras.
Planets placed in trikonas, and the trikona lords, are treated as strongly benefic for the person regardless of their natural nature. The 9th in particular, the house of fortune and the father, is often called the best house in the chart.
The defining raja yoga arises when a trikona lord joins a kendra lord, blending fortune with worldly strength. Trikonas are where a chart's good karma tends to flow most freely.
